That convocation ceremony I wouldn’t even have dreamed of. 16 years of education, I finally did it and had my own fair share of glory and success strutting on the stage for at least 30 seconds.
The journey to obtaining this qualification was definitely not easy, and I have so many, so many people to be thankful for. Those who gave me support whenever I failed, encouragement when I decided to get out of my comfort zone and try something new, laughed together, and even helping me get through tough family issues. My family, bestie, and friends, thank you for being here with me, I am surely glad to be celebrating this day with all of you. I am comforted that I have made you proud :)
And now onto my next stage of life, I am confused, anxious yet excited for what’s ahead for me. It is tough planning my own life, knowing that my decisions can make such a big impact on my family. I want to do so much more as a scientist, as a researcher and as an environmental conservationist. So much so that I don’t know where and how I should start getting around.
I am giving myself two months. Just that two months to figure out, and get myself employed. Of course, a short break after that 16 years of education.
Jul 10, 2014. Graduation day, National University of Singapore. Faculty of Science, where the memories last.
